UppaBaby Products We Love
Let's talk UppaBaby Gear and why some of the non-viral options are worth considering.
BABY

When my husband and I were heading into the birth of our first kid, we were graciously gifted an UppaBaby Infant Car Seat from my cousin and made the decision to purchase UppaBaby brand items that would be compatible with the Car Seat. We ended up loving the options, interchangeability, and quality of UppaBaby, and found that there were products beyond the typical "Vista" and "Cruz" models you see everywhere. Let's get into what UppaBaby Products we love to this day:

UppaBaby Mesa Infant Car Seat
Our daughter was born in 2024 so if you're doing the math you will know that she is no longer using the Infant Car Seat. We do, however, have another baby on the way and know we will be using the Car Seat again for him. Like I said, this car seat kicked off our decision to purchase all UppaBaby gear that would be compatible with the car seat.
Pro's: It's not too heavy, it has great ratings both for baby comfort and safety, it has a long shelf life, it is clearly well made, it's easy to operate (installation, strap adjustment), and the pads are washable and dry within 12 hours (aka overnight).
Con's: It can be bulky to maneuver and it doesn't rotate (a feature on our daughter's new car seat that was a game changer).
We have the V2, which can still be purchased, but UppaBaby has their newest model out now, the V3. I'll link both below:
Base Hack: Something else we did was purchase multiple bases for the car seat for ease of moving between cars. We got one base with the car seat, and then bought 2 more secondhand (for our 2nd car and one for my mother in law). This allowed us to keep a base installed in each car so we only had to move the car seat over if we were switching cars or alternating pick up and drop off. I would highly recommend looking into this if you have an extra car or someone your child will be with frequently enough to warrant a base in their car.
UPPAbaby Strollers
Jumping into strollers, when we were looking at strollers we wanted to get one that was compact and easy to transport, and one that was capable of off-roading on trails and grass. My husband took the lead on researching the strollers and we ultimately landed on the Minu V2 for our compact stroller and the Ridge for our off-roading stroller.
Minu V2: As a small human, this stroller is a dream. It folds up so neatly and compactly and it's super light. I can take this in and out of our car, and even open and close it, with just one hand. It's still got all the features you would want on a good stroller: it has good seat padding and comfortable, easy to maneuver straps, it has a removable bar, and a foldable awning that provides a good amount of coverage. It's also easy to operate as far as adjusting is concerned. I use this stroller if I am walking around town or running errands.
Another item we purchased along with the Minu V2 was the travel case for it. Despite it being compact, this is not a carry-on sized item but the travel case came in handy for multiple trips we had. When flying, it does need to be checked (for free, btw), but it is still compact. There is an extra bag in the carrying case for the rear wheels that come off. It's got backpack style straps on it and it is not bulky! We own an off-brand travel case for our carseat and it's just not a great fit. It is worth getting the travel case for this stroller.
One con I have noticed is that the seat netting can come undone if it's not hooked up properly, but that is an easy fix and thankfully has only happened to me once.
Ridge Jogging Stroller: The Ridge Stroller is a jogging stroller with a lockable front wheel. It's a 3 wheel stroller. This thing is a beast and absolutely can go off-roading. As a small human, I have to hoist this bad boy into the back of my car. I can open and close it with one hand, but that is just because of the design of that mechanism. The ride on this stroller is so smooth, though. It is worth the effort to get it in and out of the car. Our daughter loves this stroller and is always so comfortable in it. The awning also provides ample sun protection and has a little netted peephole to keep an eye on your little one while it's open.
I absolutely love this stroller so if I had to give it a con, I would say it's the bulkiness and heaviness of it. But I think the benefits outweigh the cons.
A little setback: The one thing we did not consider when shopping for strollers was how quickly I would get pregnant again. Life always has plans of its own. Both of these strollers cannot convert into a double stroller, and with an 18 month age gap on our horizon, we will have two little ones in the stroller together. So sadly we will be purchasing another stroller. I can confidently say though that we will be keeping our Minu and Ridge and will definitely continue using both in addition to whatever double stroller we end up buying. One product I am considering because of how much I love the Minu, is the Minu Duo Side-by-Side Double Stroller. We are not at the point where we have to make a decision on this, but I definitely have this model in my sights as a strong potential.
UPPAbaby Bassinet
Another item we purchased was the Bassinet. This ended up being an incredible purchase. We got a Snoo and like most planners thought our baby would love it and be so sad to no longer sleep in it, but funny enough we ended up using the Snoo as a stand for the UppaBaby Bassinet because our daughter would ONLY sleep in the Bassinet (the Bassinet fits perfectly inside the Snoo). Hey, whatever works! I loved this Bassinet too because I could buy compatible off-brand mattress pads and sheet covers for the inevitible blowout or leak. We even got a little thermometer and hooked it up in the Bassinet so we could know what the temp was in her little cocoon (first time parent paranoia, ya know). This is an item I would recommend a thousand times over, and for those wondering, we will be buying the actual bassinet stand for next time around.
The accessories:
Adapters
Something to keep in mind when you're not purchasing an entire set (matching car seat, stroller, bassinet models) from UPPAbaby is that you will need adapters to fit one model's car seat to the other model's stroller. There are adapters for both the Minu and the Ridge that attach to the stroller and allow you to install the Bassinet and Car Seat directly onto the strollers. The seat of the stroller comes out when you do this. The adapters are easy to install on both strollers and make outings so much simpler.
Honorable Mention
Phone/Cupholder Attachment: This is not an UPPAbaby product but it has proven to be a necessity if you like to stroll with a bevvy and easy access to your phone. This attachment fits many different strollers, not just UPPAbaby brand ones, but I can confirm it fits the Minu and Ridge perfectly. I loved it so much, I ordered another and now have one on each stroller.
Skip Hop Winter Car Seat Cover: Also not an UPPAbaby product. UPPAbaby does have products like this and if you are really dedicated to the brand, you can purchase something similar from them. However, we found this affordable compatible option from Skip Hop, which is a brand I have come to know and trust for their quality and comfort. This product is tried and true for us and basically remained attached to our car seat throughout the winter. It's perfect for running in and out of a store with your little one in the winter, especially because you are not supposed to have your baby in a coat or jacket in the car seat. It's not practical to remove your baby for each stop you have to make, especially if it's a quick trip from car to door.
If you made it this far, thanks for sticking around. I hope you found this post to be helpful in your quest for baby gear. Good luck out there and enjoy some extra shots of the gear from this post!
